Fishing in July is great just remember to drink lots of water and wear plenty of sunblock.
Inshore
This week we are catching lots of Snook, Snapper, Redfish, Tarpon, Seatrout, Flounder, Jack Crevelles and More. Fishing live baitfish Like Pilchards, Croakers, Mullet, & Pinfish will catch your biggest fish in the river this time of year. Artificials will work great before first light and around sunset. Tarpon fishing will also peak during these twilight hours. For larger snook up your tackle to ensure a quick secure fight so we can safely release these big breeding fish for a health spawn.
Nearshore
Fishing nearshore has been Steady for Cobia, Snapper, Goliath Grouper, Sharks, Permit, Tarpon, Snook, Kingfish, & Jack Crevelles. Catching live bait this time of year is very easy and ensures a successful day out on the water here in Beautiful Stuart, FL. Drifting local reefs and wrecks will produce all of the species listed above. Drop baits down to the bottom when surface activity turns off or when fishing mid-day. Also we have been having good success driving close to local beaches sight fishing cobia, sharks, Jacks, Permit, Snook, & Tarpon.
Offshore
Fishing offshore has been steady for Sailfish, Mahi-Mahi, Snapper, Grouper, Cobia, Blackfin Tuna, Bonita, Kingfish, Seabass & more. Trolling the first part of the day you can expect to catch pelagics like the Mahi, Sailfish, Tuna, Cobia, Kingfish. Second part of the trip if the trolling is slow we will bottom fish drifting or on anchor for better bottom fish and mid range species like kingfish an Cobia. Summer time mahi fishing can be excellent but you will need to run further offshore for a successful day. 10-30 miles offshore is average.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Jonathan
